We are finalizing the constitution of the Aman-Tara Association in Switzerland to support the constitution of a well in the village of Issegh-Seghan, part of the Assab cooperative of Touareg Artisans' community in Niger.

The name of our association, AMAN-TARA carries a dual cultural and spiritual resonance. In Tamashek - the language of the Tuareg -   ‘aman’ means ‘water’ - a vital element, the basis of life in the desert.   An ancient Tuareg wisdom summarizes this in two words: Aman,  Iman in other words . . .'water is life' !  

AMAN-TARA can then be understood as THE WATER OF LOVE AND LIFE - an expression of profound friendship and solidarity with the desert peoples
